    In 1541, Peter Temple married Millicent, the widow of his cousin, Thomas Heritage, and received through her two endowments. The first was a lease of pasture land in the parish of Burton Dassett. This led to a redirection of his career, and to his becoming a successful grazier.

    By Thomas she had two children, Margaret and Millicent.
