Grafton Resident Died in Hospital
Luther A. Piggott, aged Grafton resident, died at four-thirty o'clock Monday morning, M arch 14, at the Memorial Hospital in Alton where he had been removed for treatment the preced ing day. The deceased was a native of Jersey County ande time of his death was aged ei ghty-one years, 2 months and twenty-four days.
He is survived by a son Everett Piggott of Springfield; one daughter, Mrs. Lucille Abber ly of Pawnee, Illinois, and three grandchildren.
The body was moved from Jacoby Brothers Funeral Home to Ellinger-Kunz Funeral Home in Sp ringfield.

L.A. PIGGOTT, 81, OF GRAFTON, DIES
Luther A. Piggott, 81, of Grafton, formerly of Pawnee and Springfield died at 4:30 a.m. , yesterday at Alton Memorial Hospital. He became suddenly ill Saturday night at his residen ce.
Mr. Piggott was born Dec. 21, 1867. He lived for a number of years in PAwnee where he w as employed in the tiling industry. In 1944, he came to Springfield and resided here for thr ee years. While in this city he was employed at Lindley l shop. He moved to Grafton ab out 18 months ago. He was a member of the Methodist church in Pawnee.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lucille Abberly, of Pawnee; one son, Everett, of city , and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ellinger & Kunz funeral home . Burial will be in Horse Creek cemetery, Pawnee. Friends may call at the funeral home fro m 5 to 9:30 p.m. tomorrow and until time of services Thursd
