Gus Rush
Gus Rush, 72, of Rte. 2, Edwardsville, died at 12:15 p.m. Saturday in Wood River Township Hospital, following an illness of six weeks. He had been a patient in the hospital for six days.
Mr. Rush, a retired employe of International Shoe Co., had completed 30 years service with the company at time of his retirement in 1948.
He was born at Winchester, June 30, 1890 and attended the Jersey County Schools.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah, to whom he was married in 1914 at Hardin, a son, Phillip, Fosterburg; two sisters, Mrs. Latisha Carpunky, Alton, and Mrs. Myrtle Stiles, Rosedale, and three grandchildren.
Funeral rites will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Streeper Funeral Home by the Rev. Paul S. Krebs, pastor of Twelfth Street Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in
Valhalla Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Tuesday.
