THIS INDENTURE made the Thirteenth day of November in year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight Between RICHARD STONE of State of KENTUCKE of one part and STEPHEN FRENCH of State of Virginia of other part; Witnesseth that RICHARD STONE by virtue of a Power of Attorney made by his Wife, ELIZABETH STONE, bareing date the tenth of September last in consideration of One hundred pounds to him in hand paid, by these presents cloth bargain and sell unto STEPHEN FRENCH his heirs a certain parcel of land situate in Prins William County on the LICK BRANCH of OCCOQUAN, and on the Branch of the LONG BRANCH of OCCOQUN; being one half of a tract of land granted to THOMAS RENNOW {RENO} by Deed of the Proprietors of the North Neck of Virgiany bareing date the third day of December in year one thousand seven hundred and forty two, and bounded, Begining at several marked trees on West side of a Drane of the LICK BRANCH & extending thence So. 77d: Wt. 162 poles to a fallen red Oak being a corner to DeBUTTS land, thence No. 66d, Wt. 185 poles to a white Oak. near. a Branch in the back line of the tract, thence No. 11d: Et. 155 poles to a fallen white Oake, thence No. 38d: West 126 poles fallen white Oake corner to FILKINS & GEO: BYRNE, thence No, 62d: Et, 18 poles to fallen red Oak; thence No. 17d: West 22 poles to a red Oak saplin by a Branch, N.87 3/44. West 135 poles to a white Oake corner to THORN, thence So. 4 1/4d: Et. 191 poles to a Gum & two white Oaks the begining of THORNs tract, thence Et. 28 poles to a white Oake & two Maples in the LICK BRANCH, thence So. 19 Et. 136 poles to a large Chesnut, thence No. 88 Et. 98 poles to a large white Oake on East side of a Drane of the LICK BRANCH, thence So. 85 Et. 58 poles to the beginning, containing Two hundred and thirty five acres more or less together with all houses and appurtinances thereunto belonging; To have and to hold the parcel of land to said STEVEN FRENCH his heirs and RICHARD STONE will forever warrant and defend the parcel of land to STEPHEN FRENCH his heirs against the claim of all persons; In Witness whereof the said RICHARD STONE hath to this Indenture 91t his hand and seal the day and year before wrightten
