- 1st. Lt. in Va. line during Revolutionary War in Capt. Jesse Davis' Co., 11th Va. Regiment and was in the Battle of Brendywine and Mammouth. Robert's brother, Capt. Thomas Young, brought Judith Young and her family to Mason Co., Ky. after the death of Robert Sr. The records of the Daughters of the American Revolution say Robert Sr. was killed by Indians but there is no proof. His papers say he died in Prince William Co., Va. 1790. He received land grants for 4400 acres in Ky, Ind., and where Cincinnati, Ohio is now.
Capt. Thomas Young is buried in the old cemetery at Maysville, Kentucky - Lot 211 - Section 6. He died in 1833.
The death date is what is on record with the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). His wife and his heirs received pensions after his death.
