- Elmer Clifton Oglesby, aged 78, resident of King Ryder Community near Cross Roads, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 1999 in Christus St. Michael Health Care Center in Texarkana.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9 in King Ryder Church of Christ with James McRae, minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.
He was born July 17, 1921 in Arkinda; was a retired rancher and grocer; an Army veteran of World War II; and a member of King Ryder Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Smith Oglesby; one son, Darrel Oglesby of King Ryder Community; two daughters, Anita Baker, King Ryder Community, and Beatrice Reed, Foreman; three brothers, Euel Oglesby, Haworth, Okla., Harold Oglesby, Hatfield, and Harless Oglesby, Texarkana; two sisters, Nellie Vaughn, Idabel, Okla., and Norma Franklin, Hot Springs Village; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
