"Big Boy" Minner Rites Set Friday
Funeral services for James Neily "Big Boy" Minner, 58, of 1446 Delaware Dr., will be held in the Grammier-Oberie chapel Friday, at 4 p.m. with the Rev. A. C. Bell, Jr., pastor of Methodist Temple, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial park.
Mr. Minner, a mechanic employed by Jefferson county for the last 17 years, died Wednesday at 7 p.m. in St. Mary's hospital after an illness of eight months.
A native of Sikeston, MO, he had lived here since 1917. He ws secretary and former president of the AFL Teamsters union local here, and a member of the Methodist Temple and the Elks lodge.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Amelia Minner, one son, James W. Minner, one granddaughter, Sue Ellen Minner, all of Port Arthur; and two brothers, E. M. Minner of Beaumont and C. B. Minner of Norman, Okla.
Pallbearers will be six brothers-in-law: Bob, Clyde, Norman, Jack, Ed, and Earl Mudd, and a nephew, Willie Smith.
