- Clara Moyse Tadlock sailed from London, England to the United States on a ship named the General Victoria. She arrived in New York on May 24, 1848 with her mother Lucy Knight Moyse, little sister Lucy Anna Moyse; grandfather and grandmother George and Sarah Harris Knight and uncle Octavius Knight.
Clara and Alexander married on July 4, 1865 in McLean Co., Illinois. Their only child Thomas Lewis Tadlock died within a month of his birth. He was born on June 10, 1866 and died on July 10, 1866 in Illinois.
Clara loved to visit new places and became a world traveler during her lifetime. She also loved writing poetry and two of her books, Bohemian Days (publshed 1889) and Solomon Grinder's Christmas Eve and Other Poems (published 1885), can be found in the Library of Congress.
