Petitions still are circulating to oppose closing or demolishing South Park Middle School. The building's fate remains undecided and has been a topic of discussion as Beaumont school trustees contemplate a bond issue.

 

Alumni of South Park High School submitted a petition with more than 2,800 names last month and are continuing to gather signatures.

 

Petitions are available at Travis Hardware, 634 Washington Blvd.; Family Dollar, 4825 Highland Ave.; Miller's Package Store, 3325 Avenue A; Sam's Package Store, 4350 E. Lucas; Area Impressions Caps and T's, 4570 Highland Ave.; and White Tire Supply, 1000 Liberty.
