Beaumont Enterprise Opinions
April 2, 2010

I graduated from South Park High in 1972. I feel that they should not tear down this building - not just because of memories, but also the history of the building. This building has so many memories in its halls. Not only did I go there but my parents also attended there. South Park was also the start of Lamar College.

The history of the building and the age of the building should be cause enough to keep it from being destroyed. The building in itself is so beautiful along with its surroundings. This building is a landmark and architecturally a beauty, surrounded by oak trees that have been there for years and years.

It just makes me mad that a school district can destroy such a beautiful building without the people's vote on the subject. Our opinions are not even considered, but the people who have not lived here all there lives can come in and make decisions for us. What is going to be next? The Pig Stand, Jefferson Theater, library, etc.

I just think that the people who went to South Park and lived or live in Beaumont should have a say in this matter.
