Still no decision on whether BISD committed fraud No decision has been made this morning on using school funds to tear down Beaumont's old South Park High School.

Judge Bob Wortham instead issued findings of fact and conclusions of law requested by B.I.S.D. lawyer Melody Chapelle. In the findings, Wortham concluded that B.I.S.D. breached its duty to the citizens by failing to make a substantive inquiry as to the costs of renovation versus demolition.

He also ruled that the B.I.S.D. board committed fraud because of the message sent to the public that there would be no demolition of the school. He also ruled the board violated the Texas open meetings act by meeting behind closed doors and outside of public scrutiny to decide to demolish the building.

A date has not been set for the judge's decision on using non-bond money to demolish the building.
