South Park dispute should be resolved

> It's time for BISD to step up to the plate and be creative now that the decision has been made to stop them from tearing down South Park (with bond funds). We don't need to spend anymore money on lawyers, nor do we need to use money that was earmarked for standard operating costs as a "loophole" to the ruling.

There is plenty of land behind the stadium to build a new school if they are determined to spend that much money. They could certainly renovate the interior of the South Park building much more cheaply than building a new school that won't stand the test of time.

I've seen several suggestions that would allow a compromise presented in the on-line comments over the last few months. Why can't the BISD sell that administration building they have now on IH-10 and use the money to renovate South Park and use it as the administration building? The south end of Beaumont could certainly use the jobs. Maybe they should form a committee of "Greenies," school board members, voters, parents to come up with a list of options like this that would benefit all parties. It's time to move on, BISD, and come up with a new plan.
