Southeast Texas Political Review Last Publish : Sunday, January 17, 2010 11:43:18 AM Really? There are some days in Southeast Texas where you go : REALLY? Seriously, REALLY! So Dr. David Teuscher and Paul Brown with the mafia chief Dr. Carroll Thomas call a presser and announce big news! The BISD bond construction package is $10 million under budget! And the media goes gaga? And the taxpayers go - REALLY? So the big announcement is that the BISD has again overtaxed the people - again. They came up with wild figures and passed a bond issue that is going to cost the taxpayer x amount of dollars. And then they come back and say that x amount wasn't the real number and how they did such a great job and saved you the taxpayer money? And the media goes gaga? And the media gives them a walk? We really here at the Review are now convinced of one of two things. First - either there is a concerted effort by the Southeast Texas media to promote big government - and we mean a concerted effort that is managed by the political powerbase. Or second, the media is failing the people as the true watchdog for the citizens. Either or - the continued failure of calling this flat out purge of vomit out of the mouths of Teuscher and Brown as well as Thomas is simply sick. And we mean really sick. Think about it - you have a county that is dying. People are moving out. Businesses are closing. Unemployment is cresting 12%. The Chamber of Commerce is run by the government powerbase. Taxes are through the roof. Crime rates are high. And nobody calls it what it is? Complete and total lack of true leadership by government leaders? All they can do is march in front of cameras and say instead of spending MILLIONS AN D MILLIONS they are only spending some MILLIONS AND MILLIONS. And nothing has changed? Really? Really? Remember these three faces. Teuscher, Brown and Thomas. They will go on the wall of shame that has brought Jefferson County to its knees. And history will show that these three men will be part in partial to making Beaumont into what you see Port Arthur to be today. It is another week - and nothing changes in Southeast Texas. Other than everyone saying REALLY? REALLY? You have to be kidding? Right?
