Quiet demolition continues at South Park
By AMY MOORE April 6, 2010 Posted: April 6, 2010, 2:47 PM CDT Demolition at South Park continues today with most of the work being done behind the school. Several workers gathered in the parking lot behind the building this afternoon as other crew members carried large pieces of debris from the building. Jessie Haynes, spokeswoman for the Beaumont school district, said crews are working to salvage any material that can be recycled. Haynes said the district and the contractor agreed that some material removed from the site - such as copper - would become the contractor's property. The complete demolition phase is expected to take about 45 days, with new construction beginning in June. comments: fredsaid wrote: "A jackass can kick a barn down, but it takes a carpenter to build one." 04/06/2010 04:13 PM CDT RandyBonin wrote: Really sad..... 04/06/2010 03:59 PM CDT MonkeyNutt wrote: FIRE THE SOB that put this into action.
