Workin' for the weekend: BISD's worst week EVER!

If there was ever an organization in collective need of a weekend, it's the BISD. Their worst week ever continued yesterday with a variety of humiliations, set backs and left hooks. Seems all of Southeast Texas is poppin' open a can of whoop a*s on our favorite whipping boy.

In case you were being held prisoner by a band of pygmy lepers, we recap:

We start with the local neighborhood watch. Two BISD cops were suspended after they were caught taking a squad car to a Nederland repair shop on company time. What were they doing there? Who knows. Innuendo is a powerful thing. Photos were snapped by some nosey ninny, news hit the InterTubes where high-speed gerbils disseminated it to the far corners of the globe and Faux 4 news broadcasted it for all of SE Texas to see. Cops = suspended. Investigation to follow.

We discover that the BISD is currently (and has been) selling pieces of South Park Middle School. Doorknobs, blackboards and other memorabilia can be purchased from the BISD "when abatement ends!" Does NO ONE understand public relations over there? Here's a refresher course, and bear with us 'cause we're gonna get technical: THAT'S STUPID! Perhaps while they're at it, they can sell Doc Thomas's contract. We don't want him. Any takers?

A local reporter, who studied his Texas Open Meetings Act, MAKES HIS OWN NEWS! Hmm. He filed an injunctive action (is that treatable with antibiotics?) to prevent the BISD board from holding their little emergency meeting. Judge agreed, meeting tabled. Although, we do think this qualified as a "reasonably unforeseeable situation." We doubt the big heads at the BISD thought they would EVER lose.

And lastly, the judge in the case has now ordered the BISD and the Beaumont Heritage folks to sit down with a mediator. Compromise!?!? Not exactly the district's strong suit. If you believe this case will get resolved through an intermediary, we've got a doorknob we can sell you ("when abatement ends!"). Ding, dong!

Oh, and Michael Jackson died...somewhat recently. It's all MADNESS!
