Beaumont Heritage Society Attorney Michael Getz tells KBMT the decision was handed down just after noon Friday. Getz says the court ruled that Judge Wortham was within his rights by issuing the injunction against the school district.

Lawyers for BISD filed an appeal to Judge Wortham’s decision to temporarily block BISD from demolishing the former South Park High School building. A 3-judge panel decided judge Wortham did NOT overstep his authority in issuing the injunction.

Judge Wortham agreed to stop the schools demolition until it could be decided if voters in the 2007 bond election were mislead about the future of the campus.

KBMT will have more on this story later in the day.
