New developments in the battle of South Park Middle School.

During a court ordered mediation Tuesday, the Beaumont ISD agreed to allow an engineer to inspect the building for 16 hours.

The move is a victory for the Beaumont Heritage Society and others wanting to save the campus.

The district was also ordered to provide attorney Michael Getz with a certified copy of the minutes from the school board's special meeting on August 10th.

Judge Bob Wortham ruled earlier this month that the district misled voters during the 2007 bond election by suggesting South Park would be saved if the bond passed.
