Hello Donna,

My name is Lou Bodden Buxton and I'm a 1965 graduate of South Park High School.  When I learned about the destiny facing SPHS, I was devastated!  "How in this world could that beautiful building and complex be demolished?", I asked myself as tears rolled down my cheeks.

Memories of wonderful times, building friendships, learning from teachers with compassion and concern about their students all rushed into my mind.  Surely, there is some mistake, I thought.  But, as I soon found out there was no mistake.  I then began to help try and save our beloved South Park by contacting other classmates.  The result of my email notification, offered the same "Greenie Spirit" as we'd all had in school.  All wanted to know what they could do to help, how they could help and when they could help.

So, you see, Donna, South Park High School isn't just a building to be thrown away, forgotten and left to die a slow, mournful death.  Those halls are alive with history that should be preserved for generations to come.  After all, South Park was a thriving community when Beaumont was but a speck on a dirt road.  Before "Black Gold" came to town, South Park was there!

Please help us save our school, Donna.  Thank you for what you've done and for what you'll do in the future.  Just let me know what I can do to help you and I'll be more than happy to help.

Gratefully,
Lou Bodden Buxton
