Dr. Teuscher,

I was included in a subsequent forwarding of your email reply to Mrs. Miriam Cade Nichol (see below), and it took me back for a moment.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but are you, as the co-chairman of the Community Advisory Bond Committee, purposely being rude and sarcastic, and trivializing what is obviously a legitimate concern by a Beaumont resident about wanting the old SPHS building preserved???

The CABC has a "Statement of Principles", doesn't it?  Yes, it actually does, and Principle Number 3 states, "Repair existing schools to acceptable standards equal across the district."

I don't really want to think that you enjoy marginalizing people, so please don't tell me I'm guessing or imagining if I understand Mrs. Nichol's email message to you to mean that she feels it's important to the community to preserve the old, historic SPHS building.

I don't think your reply to Mrs. Nichol was very nice, and I'll bet others who read it probably feel the same.  Perhaps you might consider offering an apology.  A great person is not one wants to make others feel small.

Best regards,

C Wright

Miriam,
I'm not sure what 3DI information you are referring to. We asked the District to get some engineers to determine if the structure can be rehabilitated and how much it will cost. It is going to be very expensive no matter what.
How much have you raised in private donations for your SPHS preservation? It will be expensive, so I hope your alumni team has been successful in working on your fundraising and digging into those deep Greenie pockets.
David Teuscher, MD
