BISD superintendent failed neutrality test

Legal experts may differ over whether BISD Superintendent Carrol Thomas violated the law when he used his newsletter to oppose a proposal to add two at-large members to the school board.

Here's something that is certain: Even if it wasn't illegal, it was wrong. The superintendent works for the school board, which is elected by taxpayers. Thomas should not attempt to influence the makeup of this board. It would be just as wrong as if he endorsed a trustee candidate.

Thomas should know this. He is paid a lot of money to have the judgment demanded by a high-profile job.

The move to shift two of seven single-member positions to at-large representatives comes from parents who are not satisfied with the representation they are getting.

If Thomas and some trustees are concerned about rumblings from the taxpayers, they should address the issues that have created the concern rather than trying to choke off the debate.

C Thomas not only failed the neutrality test . . . he has failed just about every basic element of the criteria to be considered the BISD superintendent . . . And why the current school board members have not had the honor to stand up for the taxpayers and the school children of the district is just as reprehensible . . . For all the monies and energy expensed by the Beaumont community, the least consideration would be to have two at large positions for the BISD school board. The phrase E Pluribus Unum seems appropriate . . . and if not now, when?

this entire bisd debacle is only a microcosm for what is going on with this current administration.our society is sadly now about 50-50 . we have one culture that has grown on the promise of working hard and producing which will be the way to real freedom and happiness . we have the other half who do not care about their country . in fact they only take even to the expense of others . as long as the takers are voted into positions of descicion making these problems will just get worse . this is not a racist un educated rant , wake up common sense and dignity patriots .

Here's the deal in a nutshell, Dr. Thomas has spent his entire time at BISD forcing the employees to "drink the Kool Aid". He tells them what to think, what to do, how high to jump, and even how to vote. You should have seen the power point presentations shown to all BISD employees to "encourage" them to vote YES for the bond. Underlying message was basically " VOTE YES or you won't be seeing any good raises for years". You don't dare speak up or you'll regret it. The Board members are so eat up with power that they don't give a tinker's damn what is morally right. It's all about "BLACK POWER" and they wouldn't care if Dr. Thomas was the devil incarnate, they'll keep giving him anything he wants because it keeps them feeling powerful. The irony is they are nothing but puppets on his strings. If they could just witness him giving one of his demeaning and humiliating butt chewings to a well educated BLACK administrator, they would see how little power the black folks really have at BISD...except of course Dr. Thomas. What the board members see in that corrupt old..mmmm...what did Fred call him....oh yeah..."lying sack of shit", I'll never know.

You tell 'em Fred. I could not agree with you more. Now, read this week's Examiner to see how BISD have given over 1.4 million to Walker Electric, a company whose owner, Calvin Walker, HAD TO FORFIET HIS MASTER"S ELECTICIAN LICENSE!. And despite the multiple media accounts about this, Doc. Thomas claims "I don't know nuthin about it". Question - How do you know when Doc Thomas is lying? Answer - When his lips are moving.

DR Thomas has no moral compass. He does whatever he can get away with. I do not think he can make a decision without consulting his legal contortionist. He knows full well how he got his job and how he keeps it. None of it is on merit. Without his tribal chiefs, he is toast and he knows it. He will pull every lowdown and backhanded trick he knows to fight any change. He will cry race, he will call the justice dept., he will call Obama's Mamma. This guy is bad news all the way.
