Speak For Me
(From South Park High School)

Speak for me just one more time
There’s lots to tell, not Auld Lang Syne
My walls have secrets you know not yet
Please help me tell them before it’s set.

Nearly a century of feet have trod
Up and down these halls they clod
Seeking justice, words and wisdom
From teachers voices ready to give them.

Years of watching kids come in
To fill my halls again and again
With laughter, joy and seeking out
The knowledge within to take without.

Speak for me just one more time
There’s lots to tell, not Auld Lang Syne.
Help me stand regal, proud and tall
So those who come to me can walk the hall

Of Wisdom, truth and pride galore
To take with them through life to explore
Anew and afresh what they’ve learned
All came to me so as not to be burned.

Now I’m older and wiser with years
Some just see me as old through my tears
Others come and turn up their nose
It’s old they say, it should close.

Speak for me just one more time
There’s lots to tell, not Auld Lang Syne
Let me hold all the glory of time
To keep and nurture what’s been sublime.

Don’t let them take me away from my home
Please tell them to leave me so others can roam
These halls of wisdom, truth and pride
Not for the past but for the future to ride.

Speak for me just one more time
There’s lots to tell, not Auld Lang Syne.
