    Harry Goheen, Sr.
    DOW-- Harry S. Goheen Sr. 80, died at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 1993, at Christian Hospita l Northeast, St. Louis County.
    He was an independent laborer in remodeling and concrete work, retiring in 1975.
    Born in Greene County May 1, 1913, he was the son of the late Charles and Alice (Ashford ) Goheen Sr.
    He married the former Verna L. Miller March 30, 1940, in St. Charles, MO. She survives.
    Also surviving are three sons, Terry Goheen of Dow, Donald R. Goheen of Wood River and H arry "Dutch" Goheen Jr. of Fidelity; a daughter, Joy Hendy of Jerseyville; 14 grandchildren ; nine great grandchilden; three brothers, Charles Goheen d Lester Goheen, both of Dow , and Ernest Goheen of Godfrey; and a sister, Bessie Daniels of Dow.
    A brother and a sister preceded him in death.
    Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Gubser Funeral Home in Jerseyville, wher e services will be at 10 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Jim Endsley will officiate.
    Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.
    Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.

    The children of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Goheen Sr. of Dow will honor their parents at an open hous e on April l, 1990, in observance of their golden wedding anniversary.
    Goheen is a retired carpenter. He and the former Verna Miller were united in marriage on Marc h 30,
    1940, in Missouri.
    Friends and relatives are invited to attend the celebration from 1 to 4 p.m. at Salem Hall o n Salem Road in Dow. No invitations are being mailed.
    Their children, Harry Jr. of Fidelity; Don of Wood River; Terry of Dow; and Joy Hendy of Jers eyville, will serve as hosts and hostess of the celebration.
    They have 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
