    JERSEYVILLE
    Wayne Eugene Decker, 56, died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at his home.
    He was born Aug. 17, 1947, in Carrollton to Lee Alvin and Sylvia Marie (Williams) Decker.
    He married Audrey Leah (Peeler) Akers on Aug. 6,1982, at the First United Methodist
    Church in Jerseyville. They have spent the past 21 years together.
    A 1965 graduate of Jersey Community High School, he entered the U.S. Army serving
    during the Vietnam War. Upon discharge, he returned to the area, where he was employed at Car gill Corp. in Florence, Ill., before obtaining employment as a truck driver with Century Conc rete, through Ash Grove Corp. in Overland Park, Kan. He was employed with them, while he an d his wife lived in Lee's Summit, Mo., until retiring in April 2001, when they both
    returned to Jerseyville.
    In addition to his wife, survivors include six children, among them Dr. Linda
    Fischer of Waterloo, Ill., Jayne Dandaneau of Clearwater, Fla., James Akers III of East Alto n and Kim and her husband, Jim Story, of Jerseyville; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildr en;
    one sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Bob Stahlschmidt of Alton; and two brothers and sist ers-in-law, Lee and Sondra Decker Jr. of Branson, Mo., and Samuel and Sharon Decker of Galesb urg, Ill.
    Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Crawford Funeral Home (Jacoby Chapel) in Je rseyville.
    Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
    Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, with military services provided by the J erseyville American Legion Post 492 and VFW Post 4528. He was a member of both.
    Memorials may be given to the St. Anthony's Hospice or to the Jersey County Health
    Department.

    Wayne married Audrey Leah Peeler on 6 Aug 1982 in First United Methodist Church, Jerseyville, Jersey, Illinois. Audrey (daughter of Raymond Warren Peeler and Kathryn Mae Johnston) was born on 15 Dec 1932 in Hardin, Calhoun Co, Illinois; died on 13 Apr 2009 in Clearwater, Illinois; was buried in Oak Grove Cem, Jerseyville, Jersey Co, Illinois.
