    FOSTERBURG - Phillip Rush, 82, passed away at 6:45 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14,1999, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
    Born July 15, 1916, in Fieldon, he was a son of the late August "Gus" and Sarah (Snider) Rush.
    He leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Roberta Inez (Sneed) Rush, whom he married Oct. 15, 1938.
    Also surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Larry Wayne Rush of Fosterburg and Garry Phillip and Evelyn Marie Rush of Grafton; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela Rush-Hutto and James Ernest Hutto of Godfrey; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Kelly Jo and Rusty Wittman of Jerseyville; and three great-grandsons, Mitch Russell Wittman and Stone Rush Wittman, both of Jerseyville, and Adam Joseph Damm (Rush) of Alton.
    He was preceded in death by a grandson, Garry Phillip Rush Jr.
    He was a tool and die maker at Olin Corp. for 45 years, retiring in 1983, and a member of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers Local #660, a life member of Westerner Club, a member of Alton Eagles Aerie No. 254 and Wood River Moose Lodge. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
    Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Elias-Smith Funeral Home in Upper Alton, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. David A. Olson will officiate.
    Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.

    and Miss Inez Smith of Alton were married in a double wedding at St Charles, Mo., Saturday ni ght at 11 o'clock. Justice Joseph Malone officiated, the wedding taking place at the Malone h ome.
    Mr. Cunningham is the son of B. V. Cunningham, village trustee of East Alton, and Mrs, Cunnin gham,
    of 708 Kingshighway, and is employed as a machinist at Western Cartridge Company, His bride , daughter of Mr. and Mrs; J Roy Chappell, is with the Newberry Store on West Third street,
    Mr. and Mrs. Cunningham have gone to housekeeping on St. Louis avenue in East Alton.
    Mr. and Mrs. Rush are residing with Mr. Rush's parents on Lampert street. Mr. Rush is a machi nist
    at Western Cartridge Company, and Mrs. Rush is employed at the White Kitchen in Wood River.
