Generation: 2

  1. 2.  Archibald (Wahop) Waughop was born about 1627; died before 1 Dec 1683 in Portobacco, Charles Co, Maryland.

    Notes:

RDS: The first record I can find of John is early 1654; the first record I can find of Archibald is late 1656. Archives of Maryland, Vol. 41, p. 130, shows that in Sep. 1658 John of Piney-Point enters his cattle mark and Archibald enters cattle mark for his god-daughter (John's dau.) Elizabeth Waghop. So it looks like when Archibald comes to Maryland he probably stays with or near John in St. Mary's Co. As you say, John and Archibald are close in age, so not father/son, and probably brothers or cousins. Archibald is not found in Charles Co. court records until 1659.
