Lucy May Miller Jones was one of the daughters born to William H. Miller and his wife Lucinda Reynolds. May was employed as a grocer for the majority of her work life.

May was united in marriage in Beaumont, Texas in approximately 1923 to Mabry Madden Jones. May and Mabry were married for seven years when her husband passed away. May survived him by thirty-two years, passing away at the age of 77 due to congestive heart failure.
