Hi JOHNSONs

I just got back from a 3 wk trip to TX and got a little bit more on my gggg grandparents Gan and Nancy BARNETT JOHNSON.

In the 1850 Jackson Co MO census, Gan JOHNSON is listed as age 68 b in NC, a farmer with property valued at $10,000 (I found that to be quite interesting, maybe it was a typo in the book as I got it from a book form of the census). His wife Nancy is age 63 b in TN and they have living with them Nancy P. JOHNSON age 30 b TN, Barnet J. JOHNSON age 21 b MO, 4 slaves, Nancy YOUNG age 15 b MO, and the family of Granville LINVILLE age 40 b TN (Ann A age 28 b NC, John B age 7 NC, Washington age 3 b NC, and Ann M age 1 b NC).

I'm descended from Gan and Nancy's daughter Mary M. JOHNSON b 1810 in TN who married John JOHNSON Jr b 1810 Maury Co TN.

If anyone out there has info about this family of JOHNSONs, I'd love to hear from you.

(note: Marriage record for Agnes Barnett, but Nancy is in 1850 census. Nancy has a son Barnett; so perhps he married sisters. Going by dates, Mary M. would be child of Agnes, not Nancy, unless they're one and the same, but they have different birth dates. Probably sisters or cousins.)

Duke Young, married Sarah Lovelady, another sister of James Lovelady.
he named one of his sons William Johnson Young (b 1818).
Johnson name must have connected to Young name, rather than Loveladys.


Duke's sister Elizabeth Elliott, widow, with family in Bates Co, Missouri, living next door to a Lew Johnson (1815 TN) wife Polly and children, Edward Benjamin and Nancy.

These Youngs in the Johnson family are likely connect to the Duke Young family somehow. Looks like Granville marrying into the Johnson family is also indirectly marrying into the Lovelady/Duke Young connection. Also, Barnett Johnson
might have married into the Duke Young family as well.
