He was left 5 pounds in his grandfather's will dated 24 March 1802.
This family is found on the 1850 Hunterdon Co., NJ census, house 182-186. His sister, Mary listed as age 61 years, lives with the family.

Amos married Rebecca Rittenhouse about 1780 in Hunterdon Co, New Jersey. Rebecca (daughter of William Rittenhouse and Rebecca Harned) was born about 1765; died after 1803. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Notes:

daughter of William Rittenhouse and Rebecca Harnet. Rebecca Bonham is named in the will of Amos which was drawn April 1, 1817 and probated Apr. 26, 1817, as "Wife, Rebecca, use and profit of homestead (130 acres); also 2 horses, certain farming utensils, and livestock, a bed and bedding, and such other household goods as she chooses; also $200.00 all in lieu of dower............ (NJ Archives, Vol. XLII, page 45).

Rebecca had been left 1/6 of moveable estate in father's will in 1799.

Jan. 3, 1799 - Will of William Rettinghouse, Sr., of Kingwood, Hunterdon Co. Wife, Elizabeth (2nd wife?), all goods belonging to her before she married me; also 1 cow, room in house with other privileges and her maintenance on plantation, while widow. Son Benjamin 10 shillings, son William wearing apparel and 20 shillings, son Garret 7 shillings, son Abner 10 shillings, son Daniel remainder of homestead plantation not disposed of by deeds; also 24 acres purchased of Andrew Heath, formerly of Amwell dec'd. To the children of Hannah Hide, dec'd, i.e. Amelia (dec'd), Rebecca, Jonathan, William, Benjamin and Anne, the 1/6 part of movable estate, divided betwen them when of age. Daughters, Prescill Freeman, Anne Dansdil, Rebecca Bonham, Catherine Heath, and Abigail Larue, each 1/6 part of movable estate.
Exec: sons Benjamin and Daniel both of Kingwood.
Witnesses: Uriah Sutton, Aaron Swayze and Uriah Bonham.
