3. Abraham Lindsey was born on 13 Aug 1813 in Providence, Trimble Co, Kentucky; died on 3 Apr 1893 in Providence, Trimble Co, Kentucky.

Thomas Lindsey may have been a son of Edmund Lindsey, Sr. He was a constable, juryman, and road overseer in Frederick Co. Thomas married first Mary, and second, Elizabeth. Thomas Lindsey sometimes signed his name Thomas Jr. despite being the oldest known Thomas Lindsey in the county. Thomas died in 1769. His will named his wife, Elizabeth, and children John, Thomas, Abraham, James, and Mary Turner. Thomas' will also named his sons-in-law Nathaniel Barrett (married to Abigail Lindsey), and Richard Allen (married to Nancy Lindsey). . . .

Thomas Lindsey's son, John (b. 1746), married Sarah Abrell, the sister of Elizabeth Abrell (married to Jacob Lindsey Sr.). John and Sarah Lindsey moved to Pickaway Co., Ohio about 1811. Some of their sons migrated to Pickaway Co. with them. . . .

"...to my son Thomas Lindsey the plantation where I now live on extending one hundred poles down the marsh and the same at each end. Item, I give to my son Abraham Lindsey the lower part of my Land where I now live on extending one Hundred Poles to Isaac Lirenus line. Item, I give to my son James Lindsey my Tract of Land in Hampshire County on Little Capecapon. Item, I give to my son-in-law Nathaniel Baret three breeding mares such as my executors shall choose also I give to Nathaniel Baret the Bay Horse he now has and three cows such as my executors shall choose. Item, I give to my son-in-law Richard Allen the mares he has now in possession and three more breeding mares such as my executors shall choose also I give to Richard Allen four young cows Also I give to Richard Allen Seven Pounds to buy a feather bed. Item I give to my Daughter Mary Turner living in Carolina Twenty Pounds to be raised out of my estate. Item, I give to my wife Elizabeth Lindsey the use of my Negro man Fortune..."

her parents not determined she is clearly from this line of Frosts. If this is correct, Elizabeth Frost (1755), who married Mary's son Abraham, would have been Mary's niece.

According to lore in the families of several descendants of John FROST, the FROSTs came to America from Wales.

One example of such lore is the following:

"In 1683 several members arrived in America from the Parish of Llainhaugel yr. helyge Radnorshire (Wales) and resided in Pennsylvania as Quakers. John Frost purchased a 380-acre tract (surveyed on 25 September 1734) from the Colony on 12 November 1735. He lived on this land located about ¾ miles south of present-day Stephenson, Frederick County, Virginia. On 10 January 1737, he sold 200 acres to Peter Falkner, "Opechon store keeper," of Orange County for 20 pounds. . . . After Frost had moved to the Back Creek area, the remaining 180 acres were sold on 20 September 1743 to John Milburn of West New Jersey for 100 pounds. . . .

On the order for viewing and laying off a road petitioned for by Hobson & Others Morgan Bryan John ffrost and Arthur Buchannan the persons orderd to lay of ye sd road made their return as followeth In pursuance of an order of Court We have viewed and laid off a road from Evan Watkins fferry by a Course of Marked trees to the head of ye ffaling Spring thence to Roger Turners thence to Edward Beasons over the Taskerora Branch thence to Joseph Evans Spring head thence to the Middle Creek thence to New Chappell Thence by the head of Evan Thomas Spring head thence to a Corner White oak between the lands of John Littler and John ffrost thence along the said Line to ye Corner South Eastward thence to Secorns Licks thence to Opecken Creek & Crossing the Same just above John Neils Mill Branch thence to the Spout run
by Edges Cabbin thence to the King’s road that leads from Just Hites to Shennindo & to fall into the Same by John Kerseys plantation near Shennendoford We also recommend Thomas Thornberry & John Shearer to order the Clearing the said road from Evan Watkins to the Chappell & George Hobson & John Littler from thence to conclude the Same whch return being redd to the Court Its ordered that the said road be cleared according to the Viewers report & that all the tithables from Potomack between Opecken & the little Mountain that lyes on this Side the little Cape Capon and thence Southward as far as it includes James Wrights near the Mountains and Joseph Carters on Opecken And for over Opecken & Between & Shennando all Such as Shall not exceed three Miles from the said laid out road work thereon Under the afd Thomas Thornberry John Shearer /: from Evan Watts’s to the Chappell:/ & Under George Hobson & John Littler /: from thence to the end of ye sd Road /: who are hereby appointed Overseers of the sd road And its further ordered that the sd Overseers with ye sd Tithables clear the said road & make bridges where they Shall be wanting & keep ye sd Road when cleared in repair according to Law.
