Henry Netherton

THIS IS AN ABSTRACT OF THE APPLICATION FOR PENSION - - - JOHN NETHERTON - VIRGINIA
The above named soldier was living in the county of Shelby, state of Kentucky, when he applied for pension on the date of July 26, 1832, aged 85 years.
He enlisted in the county of Shenandoah, state of Virginia, in 1776 or 1777. About 1790 Netherton moved from Virginia to the state of Tennessee and lived there about 5 years. He then moved to Jefferson County, Kentucky, where he resided until a few years before 1832 when he moved to Shelby County.
His widow, whose name was Rebecca Netherton, applied for pension in the county of (cannot read), state of Kentucky, date of July 20,1835, aged 62 years. They were married in the state of Kentucky, county of Jefferson, date of May 5, 1808, by William Kellar. Her name before her marriage was Mrs. Rebecca Frazier, widow of John Frazier.
Henry Netherton and his younger brother, John Netherton, made affidavit that they remembered their father serving in the army during the Revolutionary War.
Henry Mathes (Matthews/Mathis?) made affidavit in August 1832, in Oldham County, Kentucky, that his father James Mathes served in the Revolutionary War under the command of John Netherton.
Reuben Ross made affidavit that Col. John Netherton's regiment camped on his father's farm in Alleghany County, Pennsylvania, about 5 miles from Pittsburgh, during the Revolution.
John Netherton died October 31, 1834 in Oldham County.

He was named 9 in a series of lawsuits in 1712 in Cople Parish, Westmoreland County, Virginia. He was named 10 in a lawsuit on 28 Aug 1712 in Cople Parish, Westmoreland County, Virginia. He was employed 11, 12, 13 as as a surveyor 1713 - 1716 in Cople Parish, Westmoreland County, Virginia. He was named 14 to a coroners jury on 26 Jul 1714 in Westmoreland County, Virginia. He was named 15 as a witness to the will of Samuel Rust in 1715 in Westmoreland County, Virginia. He was named 16 as guardian of John Garner on 27 Apr 1715 in Westmoreland County, Virginia.
