Dixie was born the daughter of Raymond Clarence Bouse and Dixie Louise Huddnel Bouse. Mrs. Shaw, along with her husband Bennie W. Shaw, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1976, were founding members of First Baptist Church of Port Bolivar. She was the Post Master General in Newton, Texas, High Island and Port Bolivar before retiring with over 35 years of service. Preceded in death by her husband survivors include son, B.W. Shaw, Jr. and wife Judy; sister, Odessa Mouton; brother, Earl Ray Bouse and wife Mary; grandchildren, Barry Shaw, Sammy Shaw, Leslie Shaw and Sheri Ransom; step grandchildren, Ingrid D'Anna and husband Gasper and Kim Woodruff and husband Robert; great-grandchildren, Taylor Ransom, Devin Ransom, Craig Shaw, Samantha Shaw, Candace Shaw, Megan Wall and Christen Wall; step great-grandchildren, Dane Williams, Ben Williams, Olivia D'Anna, Gasper D'Anna, Paige Woodruff and Abigail Ransom; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and many friends.
A special thanks to her grandson Barry Shaw for his kind and dedicated care given to Mrs. Shaw over the past 4 years.
