Jonathan G. Phillips, 77 years old, died at 10:30 o'clock last night at his home on the Wilbur ranch west of Commerce.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laura Phillips; five sons, Frank Phillips of Fairland, Charley , D.H. and Floyd Phillips of the home and Homer Phillips of Los Angeles; three daughters, Mrs. Daisy Bristow of Batesville, Ark., Mrs. Maud Stroupe of Grand Junction, Colo. and Mrs. Vera Richardson of Columbus, Kas.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Mount Zion church. Burial will be in the Fairview cemetery west of Melrose, Kas. The Mitchelson Undertaking company is in charge.

Mrs. Laura Phillips, widow of John G. Phillips, died shortly after midnight last night in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert Richardson and Mr. Richardson, 415 West Walnut. Her age was 79 years, 5 months and 29 days at the time of her death.

Mrs. Phillips fell in her room on December 28th and later suffered two paralytic strokes, which resulted in her death.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Friday afternoon in the Mt. Zion Baptist church west of Cardin, Okla., conducted by Rev. Ernest H. Milton, pastor of the Baptist church, this city. Burial will be made in the Mt. Zion cemetery with the Michaelson Undertaking Company of Commerce Okla. in charge.

Laura Johnson was born in Licking county, Ohio on July 13, 1859, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Johnson. While she was yet a baby the family moved to Marion county, Illinois. There she was married to John G. Phillips on September 20, 1878.

Mr. and Mrs. Phillips lived in Marion county, off and on until 1900, when they moved to Shannon county Missouri. From there they moved respectively to Batesville, Ark., Southwest City, Mo., Caney, Kans., Payne county, Oklahoma, to California, Oregon, and back to Oklahoma, where Mr. Phillips died near Commerce, in 1935. Following her husband's death Mrs. Phillips came to Columbus to live, and has made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Richardson for the past three years and eight months.

Mrs. Phillips is survived by eight children: Mrs. B.L. Bristow Batesville, Ark., Mrs. Maude Sroup, Grand Junction, Colo., T.F. Phillips, Fairland, Okla., C.E. Phillips, Miami, Mrs. Albert Richardson, Columbus, Homer Phillips, Los Angeles, Calif., Harry Phillips, Baxter, and Floyd Phillips, Columbus. Also surviving are twenty-nine grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren, and one brother, Homer Johnson, near Brookfield, Mo.
