other Browns in Jackson MO 1840
    Abram (50-59) pg 19

    Research Notes:
Francis Brown is ancestor of Jerome Brown who tested in Family Finder as 5th Remote cousin to my mother and maps on predominantly Chrom 20 and a bit on Chrom 7. The only name shown as a match was Brown in Nodaway Co, MO. Another surname mentioned but not a match was Elliott.
Thomas William Brown m Rosa Belle Elliott. He was son of Thomas Henry Brown & Emily Rebecca Schrievner, and grandson of Francis Brown born TN & Elizabeth Browning. No record of Francis' father.
However, Francis Brown is living in 1840 Jackson Co, MO and is listed on the same census page as William Bowers and William Linville.
I had in my database Andrew Brown b 1792 whose son Isaiah Brown m Malinda Lovelady; son Wilson Brown m Eleanor Linville, and dau Sarah C. Brown m Henry C. Linville.
Malinda Lovelady is dau of Moses Jones Lovelady and gdau of John Henry Lovelady. John Henry's dau Sarah Rebecca m Peter Shrum. Shrums in line of Tommy Sisco who matched very strongly to my mother. Tommy shows on Chrom 20, but not perfectly aligned with Jerome Brown.
Eleanor Linville Brown is dau of Thomas Linville Jr & Charity Watkins. and niece of Catherine Linville, wife of William Bowers who Nancy & James Lovelady had land dealings with. Also, living in community in Jackson Co MO with Francis Brown.
Henry C. Linville is bro to Thomas Linville Jr. as well as Catherine Linville Bowers.
I believe Francis is very likely Andrew's Brown's brother or at least very closely related.

Malinda Lovelady is a descendant of Simeon. She is too distant from James Lovelady to be showing up if this match is thru my James Lovelady. It must be thru Nancy.

Also, the name Elliott is of interest. I had Rosa Belle Elliott who married Thomas William Brown in my file. She was granddau of Jemima Jane Lovelady, sister to James Lovelady. But Elliott wasn't the matching name.

Another match to Mother is Estell Harris. I found her connection, as well. She also matches on Chrom 20, overlaps with Jerome Brown a little bit, and is present at least on chrom 7 though not overlapping with Sisco. Her connection is thru Elizabeth Lovelady who married John Benjamin Liverman. Elizabeth dau of Wm Thos Lovelady & Hester Jones; Wm Thomas gson of Simeon! Again, I'm back to Simeon.

    --
I've come across a match to my mother in FamilyTreeDNA of a Jerome Brown. He did not publish his tree; but only the name Brown in Nodaway, MO shows as a matching name. He's a 5th Remote, but it's on Chrom 20 along with some others. Other names mentioned are Elliott and Schrievner. I already had Thomas William Brown & Rosa Belle Elliott because Rosa was in the line of Simeon Lovelady. I found Thos Wm's father, Thomas Henry Brown - mother Emily Schrivner (so right line); and Thomas Henry son of Francis Brown & Elizabeth Browning. Francis Brown is on the same 1840 Jackson Co MO census page as William Bowers (m Catherine Linville) and William Linville who was Catherine's nephew and married to Leah Bowers.
I have been unable to find Francis' parents, but because of family connections - and a little DNA clue - I think he could be the brother of Andrew Brown who had 3 children who married Linvilles and Lovelady: Isaiah Brown m Malinda Lovelady; Wilson Brown m Eleanor Linville; and Sarah C. Brown m Henry C. Linville. 1840 Nodaway Census has Browns, Linvilles, Elliotts in their own community. Eleanor is niece of Catherine Linville Bowers.
Do you have any info on the Browns that might tie this up? I suspect that this line of Browns is pointing to my Nancy somehow because of some other matches who share the same chromosome and I think if this was pointing to James, it wouldn't be showing up since the Simeon Lovelady line is a bit more distant. She still might not be a Linville, but I do think somehow she might be from Simeon Lovelady's line.

    posted to Linville Facebook pg:
Do any of you have any info on the Browns who married into the Linville and Lovelady line? Specifically, I am looking at the possibility that a Francis Brown, who was living in Nodaway MO in 1840 and listed on the same census page with William Bowers (husband of Catherine Linville) and William Linville, her nephew, might be a brother of Andrew Brown who had three children who married Linvilles and a Lovelady.
A descendant of this Francis Brown matched ? remotely but matched ? to my mother?s Family Finder DNA (Gloria Jones Moyer); and the chromosome browser shows him in common with some others; and various vague clues are making me think that these matches are leading my 3g grandmother Nancy (LNU) Lovelady - who I THINK she is a Linville, possibly a sister to Catherine Linville Bowers. She might not be, but I do believe she?s at least from a very closely related family. (FYI, Francis? grandson Thomas William Brown m Rosa Belle Elliott, Elliotts being another collateral family)
My knowledge of DNA is elementary at best; so I?m over my head here. My website containing all I?ve found on the Browns ? as well as Linvilles and Loveladys (and just about everybody else) is http://sherrysharp.com/genealogy
Thanks for any help you might can offer.
