Sherry, Hope you & yours had a good Christmas & new year.
I noticed in your Roark pages you have the same mistake that the LDS church seems to pass along to everyone.
William Roark & Sarah Dorris Roark had a son named John Roark but he did not marry my 3greatgrandmother Elizabeth Linville. He married a neighbor girl from the Puncheon Creek area, Nancy Driver, & they went to Muhlenburg Ky. They had 3 girls so that line of Roarks stopped there. There is another William Roark in Mulenburg Ky at the same time & he also had a son John. but again -no known connection to any Roarks in the area of Macon Co. Tn.
The John that married Elizabeth Linville & was my 3greatgrandfather came from Surry/ Stokes N.C. & was the son of Elijah & Judith Roark. John & Elizabeth came to Smith/Macon co. Tn. in 1808. They settled on Dry Fork of Goose Creek.
    Hope this helps.
Love the way you have your genealogy sheets arranged.
    Be in touch
    Bill Roark

    FIRST ROARKS IN AMERICA
The story that was past down through the generations til now was that there were 4 brothers, Michael, Elijah, David and John, who came from Ireland to America. The brothers started a powder factory in North Carolina. They were full Irish, and Catholics but John changed the name to Roark and left the church for he couldnt agree with it.
