Notes:

First rector of Bruton Parish Church, where he served from 1674 until his death in 1688, so named in the earliest vestry records of April 18, 1674. He was Martha (Dandridge) Washington's great-grandfather.

He attended Oxford University, as did his father, Rev. Rowland Jones [Sr.] (1608-1665) whose entry is located above his son's in the Oxford Alumni directory. Oxford Alumni Directory: "JONES, ROWLAND, s. [son of ] Rol., of Kimbell, Bucks, minister. Merton Coll., matric. 13 Nov., 1663, aged 19."
