Born 8 Mar 1796 in North Carolina, grew to manhood in Tennessee, moved to Illinois, settled in Missouri in 1834. Settled in Vernon County, Missouri in March 1844. Served in the war of 1812 actively. First wife Polly Young, after her death married Mary Ann Boyd of Pennsylvania. Eleven children born of these first two wives. In 1860 married Mrs. Christina Bacon who died in 1871.
