Does anyone know who Mathias Moyer is?
I found several land transactions involving him in "Land Deeds of Jefferson County, Tennessee 1792-1814." I'm researching the line including Christopher Moyers & Sarah McGowan who were married there 1 Feb 1822. Neither their children nor Chtopher's siblings show a Mathias. Am I missing something? Also, what do the double dates signify?

    According to these records:
Commissioners of Dandridge Deed to Matthais Moyer

Jefferson Co, being a lot in the Town of Dandrige, Plat No. 21

Thomas Sheddon (Sheddan), John Eakin, William Eakin and Jane Eakin (all of Blount Co) deed to Mathyas Moyer

Henry Collins and Mathias (Mathyas) Moyer Title Bond to George Gregory

We, Henry Collins and Mathyas Moyer, are held and firmly bound to make George Gregory a right to a certain tract of land hereafter mentioned by the said Gregory paying the instalments agreeable to an act of assembly in this state, the land adjoining Richard Gregory, George Turnly, George Gygar, "___" Rickets, Solomon Copeland, and John Sehorn; to be paid on condition the above obligation is performed; otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
Test: Jno Sehorn /s/ Henry Collins, Mathyas Moyer.

Heirs of Mathias Moyers, Deceased, deed to George Gregory
    11 Dec 1813 9 Mar 1813 139 acres 3 lengths $160.00
on the south side of French Broad River adj William Dunn. Andrew Henderson and William More, administrators of all and singular the goods and chattles rights and credits of Mathias Moyers, deceased; and Polly Gass, late Polly Moyers, Administratrix of said Estate; and Andrew Gass, who intermarried with Polly Moyers; and Henry Collins (Sevier Co.). $160.00 in hand paid by George Gregory to Mathias Moyers in his lifetime, and to me the said Henry Collins, the receipt whereof we severally acknowledged the said Mathias Moyers sold to George Gregory, and there in his lifetime on 19 Jul 1809 said Mathias Moyers made and executed to said Gregory his bond for title to said land, which bond was signed and sealed by Henry Collins and George Gregory, having had the said bond proven in the County Court of Jefferson and recorded as the law directs. Surveyed 15 Apr 1807. Wit: Jacob Crider; Joseph McGuire. /s/ A. Henderson; William Moore; Mary Gass; A. Gass; Henry Collins. March Session 1813.

The name Gass (John) showed up witnessing the will of Alexander Breckenridge in 1813. But that was in Bourbon Co, KY. His g-granddaughter m Harold Charles Moyer, the grandson of Christopher Moyers & Sarah McGowen.
There was a Catherine McGuire who m Andrew Blackburn whose sister Mary married James Moyers, father of Christopher Moyers.
With these common names, it seems that Mathias belongs to the same family of Moyers, but how???

I found a marriage bond for Pettigrew McGowan in 1800 Randolph, NC. The bride was Elizabeth Noblet. She was the sister of John Noblett of Orange, NC.
Some of his children moved to Maries, MO and lived near the desc. of Jared Branson Sr.
