The infomation that I have show here for William. his wife, Jane, and the three sons; James, Joseph and William came from the records of Jan Cleave and Jean Morford. Their history indicates that our these are the same three sons that I have for John and Tomasini Renfro. There were probably sons for both William and John who I have as sons of Robert with the same names. Family naming patterns were often identical. From the wills of John and Tomasini, I believe William who married Elizabeth Cheney to be the son of John. However, either could be correct.
Renfro's of the same time period:

Much research was done on the Renfro (all spellings) by Dr. D.O. Manshardt of Peoria, IL. He spent all his vacations for 25-30 years traveling to many States and Counties recording information regarding ALL Renfro's. The last several years he was going blind. His research consists of approximately 150-17 5 typewritten pages of court records regarding Renfro's. He published his finding in 1970, "Renfro Family Records in Kentucky" and placed a copy with the Kentucky Historical Society, Filson Library in Louisville, Ky and Grayson County Public Library in Leitchfield, KY. Many current day researchers refer to his work and some note that there were errors. Let's face it folks, we make mistakes today using the latest technology.
