Samuel married Helena "Lena" Wilhemina Frasher in 1875. Helena (daughter of Frederick J. Frasher, (immigrant) and Barbara (Strockmeir) Strowmeier, (immigrant)) was born on 20 Jul 1857 in Barren Co, Kentucky; died on 27 Mar 1946 in Cooke Co, Texas; was buried on 28 Mar 1946 in Fairview Cem, Gainsville, Cooke Co, Texas. Research Notes:
Lena Frasher Emerson, mother of Cleo Emerson, of Pampa. Lena's daughter Eula, was informant for Cleo Emerson's death cert and gave their mother's name as "Lena Will." Lena died a widow in 1946, and was buried with the last name Emerson.

Sam Emerson died in 1923; when Lena would have been 66 yrs old. Did she possibly, briefly marry a 2nd husband, named "Will" to explain her daughter giving "Will" as her last name?

Lena is attached to Herman Albert "Jack" Will because of the potential connection of her son Cleo Emerson with the Laila Ryther Stone line and the connecting Will name.

It's all pure conjecture. So far, no explanation for Lena to have been ID'd as "Will" by her daughter, nor any indication that if she did have a 2nd husband "Will," that there was a definitive connection between that 2nd husband and to Herbert "Jack" Will.

Nevertheless, since much research has been done on the Frasher/Emerson family and due to respect to their lives and legacy, they will remain in this family's tree.

Dec 1, 2011 -- Regarding the last name given has "Will," received an email from a descendant who said "I noticed your question about Lena being listed sometimes on death certificates as "Lena Will" - I think this was an attempt to show her middle name as Lena Wilhemina."

Justification for linking Jesse to Henry Sr:
I found in some marriages where Jesse Emmerson (ftr of Sam) m a Nancy Furlong (b.d. fits for her). Then I found in the Rootsweb where Nancy's sister m Joel Emmerson. Another search found Joel Emmerson as son of this Henry Emmerson and that hes married to Martha Emmerson. The children are skimpy at best of Henry but Jesse's b.d. fits right in, as well as the very common two sisters/two brothers (I know, not fool-proof, but pretty darn good educated guess) It's obvious Jesse is in this family; and this has got to be how.
