Will:
I Daniel Chadd of Putnam County Indiana being of sound mind and in good health but feeling conscious of the fact that life is uncertain and that death is certain make ordain and declare this my last will and testament revoking all others.
Item First I will and bequeath to the heirs of my deceased son George Chadd that is to say his children, the sum of two thousand dollars to be paid out of the first money that may be realised from my estate after my death.
Item Second After the payment of the above sum of two thousand dollars as above provided I will and bequeath all of the balance of my property real and personal to my beloved wife Ruth Chadd and my son James Chadd to be divided equally between them each taking one half absolutely and in fee and hereby authorize and direct them to make deeds and assignments to and from each other so as to divide said property according to the provisions of this will without in any respect involving the same in litigation and I hereby appoint my wife Ruth my Executrix and my son James Chadd Executor of this last will and testament and desire and direct that my whole estate shall be settled without accountability to the Common Pleas Court in testamony (sic) whereof I have set my hand and seal in the presence of
