William married Catherine Bonarme (or Benarure) on 17 Aug 1800 in St. Martinville, St. Martin Parish, Louisiana. Catherine was born on 15 Feb 1782 in New Orleans, Louisiana; was christened on 13 Apr 1782 in St. Louis Church, New Orleans, Louisiana; died on 17 Feb 1882 in New Orleans, Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. 1. George Washington Hargraves was born in 1812 in St. Martinville, St. Martin Parish, Louisiana; died about 1894 in Jefferson Co, Texas.
2. Andrew Hargraves was born in 1812 in Louisiana; died after 1880 in of, Taylor Bayou, Jefferson Co, Texas.

Benjamin married Rebecca Elizabeth Gwaltney about 1769 in of, Attakapas District, Louisiana. Rebecca (daughter of Ethenne Benjamin Gwaltney and Anne Erhart) was born about 1747 in New England Colony, Virginia; died in 1784. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Benjamin and Rebecca's relationship is a real mystery to me. Based on the irrelative ages I have come to the conclusion that they must be cousins or something. I believe Benjamin was born in 1743 the son of John Gwaltney b. in 1710. John was the son of Thomas b. 1687. Rebecca's birthdate of 1754 is too close to Benjamin for my comfort. Additionally, I have Benjamin's children born in the 1770's with Susannah b. in 1784 which is 30 yea rs after Rebecca. We know Susannah's birthdate for sure because of the court case recorded in 1795 in the Natchez Court Records. Also, my fourth great grandfather Abraham Galtney marries Nancy Ann Killian in 1797. I put his birth as the early to mid 70's. I have been able to trace Benjamin's wife, Hannah Earhart, back to North Carolina. She had at least eight siblings and I know the birthdates of three which are 1735-1760. A birthdate of 1755, I am just guessing, for Hannah would be completely consistent with these dates. It remains an interesting mystery how Benjamin and Rebecca are related.
