"ANNIE STRICKER, "She had a "good mind." Annie was a friend of Runie Moore's in school in east Waco. She married Adoph [sic] Bruhl, who owned Bruhl's Pharmacy in Llano, Texas, and whose father was a judge in Llano County. Adolph did well; they had a house with 16 steps in front. They had five children, who ?went to U. of Texas and things." She died in Llano. One of the children died young. Four boys grew up:
Edwin - Graduate of University of Texas, worked as a CPA and did very well financially. Lived in Houston as of the mid-1970s.
Lawrence - Also a U of Texas graduate. He was a lawyer in Llano. Married a woman named Elaine. No children.

Donald - Also a Texas graduate. Married the daughter of a well-to-do rancher. His wife became a drug addict; they were divorced and he married again.
Kenneth - a pretty little kid. Also a Texas grad. He may have lived in Houston during the mid 1970s."

As recorded in the journal called "Texas Girlhood," written by Mary Ann "Nona" Stricker, his granddaughter, "When Papa was but nine years old, his father, an itinerant German baker, had drunk a glass of cold water one summer afternoon, lain down to rest, and died, as we children were told, because the ice water froze the marrow around his heart. We were never clear as to the exact nature of the anatomical area involved, but it was a long time before I could drink a glass of ice water and then lie down without misgivings s to the certainty of my subsequent arising."
