    Speculated assumption that Alexander is son or at least related to Robert based on Robert's line does have a male named Alexander, as well as Alexander married into the Crawford family, as did supposed brother James' grandson Robert Russell McBride.


    another researcher at Rootsweb, has voluminous notes on the McBrides, however, he says this is James rather than Alexander. This record says "James" was born in 1750 in Ireland and married in 1774 in Guilford Co, North Carolina. These dates do not allow for the children born before Thomas.
