Frances Neavill (Neville)

Frances married Alexander Thomas about 1785. Alexander was born in 1760 in Virginia; died in 1813 in White Co, Tennessee. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

1. Presley Thomas was born in 1786 in North Carolina; died after 1820 in Metcalfe Co, Kentucky.

William married Winnefred Anne Oldham before 1762 in Prince William Co, Virginia. Winnefred (daughter of John Oldham and Mary Cox) was born in 1738 in St. Stephens, Northumberland Co, Virginia; died in 1808 in White Co, Tennessee. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Notes:

Joseph and Ann were cousins. He settled in Prince William Co, VA about 1745 where that county on 27 Nov 1752 and again on 25 Oct 1753 granted him a license 'to keep ordinary at his house.' Since his house was located "on the branches of Cedar Run at the throroughfair of the Rapahannock Mountain," he was a neighbor of his brother Capt George Neaville, who, also was an ordinary keeper. His son, George Neaville, Jr., succeeded him in the operation of the ordinary in 1766. Another son, Joseph Neavill, became a general in the Revolutionary War, and a third son, John, served in that war as a colonel.

1735 - had license to operate an ordinary in Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania Co., VA
1739 - 1741 - and an ordinary in Caroline Co., VA
1745 - purchased land in Prince William Co., VA
1753 & 1754 - on Prince William Co., rent roll
1762 - sells to son George land he purchased in 1745; land is now in Fauquier Co., VA

Notes:

Elizabeth Bohannon was of the generation to be a daughter of Duncan Bohannon, the immigrant settler of that family, who was involved with the Neville family in Charles County, Maryland, in 1662 and Gloucester County, Virginia, in 1674 (FORKS OF ELKHORN CHURCH, Ermina Jett Darnell, Standard Printing Company, Louisville, 1946).

Richard married Hannah Conway in 1696 in St. Stephens Parish, Northumberland Co, Virginia. Hannah (daughter of Edwin Conway, III and Anna Ball) was born in 1675 in Northumberland Co, Virginia; died in Apr 1696 in Caswell, North Carolina. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Some of the dates here are obviously wrong as Hannah could not have died in 1696 and had children years later. If anyone has updated information please drop us a line.
