| 4321 | 1880 Madison Co census shows Clarinda Harris, husband John, son Peter, and James Burrell, her brother. --- original message --- ----- Original Message ----- From: Sherry To: Donna Morgan Sent: Monday, April 26, 2010 10:42 AM Subject: Re: Clarinda saga continues :) I FOUND IT!!!! She is a Burrell!! I couldn't see the 1880 census in familysearch.org - pilot. So, I went to the advanced familysearch, 1880 census. Still have to pay to see image, but it shows the family -- and brother James Burrell is living with them!!! John HARRIS Self M Male W 26 LA Farmer TN GA Clarinda HARRIS Wife M Female W 19 TX Keeping House LA TX Peter HARRIS Son S Male W 1 TX At Home LA TX James BURREL Other Male W 21 TX Laborer LA TX ----- original message ---- From: Sherry To: Donna Morgan Sent: Sun, April 25, 2010 4:32:31 PM Subject: Clarinda saga continues :) Hi, Donna. I finally got Clarinda's info we discovered posted on my site. I did a little further looking trying to really firm up that Clarinda, wife of John Benjamin Harris, is Clarinda Burrell, but short of your family info and close b.d., just can't find it. But I am just a little bit wondering if we got off on a rabbit trail trying to "make" it fit. Don't ya' just luv to play detective. :)) 1860, Liberty Co, Clarinda is 1 (b 1859) 1870, Liberty Co, Clarinda is 10 (b 1860 - b.d. and census date could make the difference) 1880, Madison Co Clarinda b 1861 moving away from 1859. - this is when we have her with Harris 1900 Liberty Co (again) Clarinda is b 1858, closer to the original '59, again, b.d. maybe w/ census date) Madison is a distance from Liberty and there is that slight age difference. It's not looking so "sure fire" as it did. Peter born 1878 (she was 18 - certainly feasible she met Harris somewhere and moved to Madison Co, then moved back to Liberty after separation/div, but doesn't seem like a likely scenario to me. married Parker in 1884 she was 26 - back in Liberty Co. Harris married Marguerite 1888 still in Madison Co, I guess. But on the other hand, when she listed her children born, there were two unaccounted for. But looking at dates of her kids with Parker, there are enough gaps to allow for two lost Parker children. married in '84; 1st ch b May 1886 (could have had one in '85); then one b '88; then twins in '92 - could have had one in between. They usually had their kids 2 years apart. Anyway -- just thinking out loud! lol ----- Original Message ----- From: Morgan,Donna H To: 'lumoto@aol.com' ; 'lumoto@msn.com' Sent: Friday, April 16, 2010 2:49 PM Subject: Questions about Clarinda Burrell My great, great grandfather, John Benjamin Harris was married to someone by the name of Clarinda as of the 1880 census and they had one child by the name of Peter Benton Harris. I recently received communication from someone on Ancestry.com that Clarinda's last name was likely Burrell and all of the information provided by the person added up and made sense. What addl information can you provide about Clarinda? Until recently all I had was a first name on a census record. I was thrilled to find your website. Do you know if the marriage to John Harris was legitimate? Please feel free to email me or call me at 281-798-5594. I look forward to hearing from you.
