  Notes	The surname of the Briscoe family was originally "DeBrikkskeugh" from the name of their first estate near New Biggin, Cumberland County, England. The first English Briscoe came over from Normandy with William the Conqueror in 1055 A.D., bringing with him from Brisqua in Suabia a compnay of free lances to aid the Norman cause.
