IN THE NAME OF GOD, Amen, the fifteenth day of Octo: Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred & thirty two, I DANIEL BONUM of County of Westmorland in the Coloney of Virginia being of sound and perfect mind and memmory thanks be to God Almighty for the same, doe make this my Last Will & Testament in manner and form following; revokeing and absolutely annulling all and every Will or Wills heretofore by me made either by word or Righting and this only to be my
Last Will & Testament and none other;
First, I give my Soul to God yt: gave itt and my Body to the Earth fromwhence itt came to be buryed in such decent and Christian manner as my Executor hereafter mentioned shall see convenient, trusting through the meritts of my blessed Saviour Jesus Christ to find free pardon for all my sins,
I give bequeath and devise to my Son, SAMUEL BONUM, all that tract of land whereon I now live being One hundred ninty six acres, to him my sd. Son, SAMLL. BONUM, and the heirs of his body lawfully begfotten, and for want of such heirs, then I give ye sd. Land to my Nephew, THOMAS BONUM, and his heirs for ever;
Also, I give bequeath and devise to my Son, SAMUEL BONUM, five Negroes, vizt, Anthony, Will, Amey?jone and Sam and their Increase to him and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten, and for want of such heirs, then I give ye said Negroes and their Increase to be equally devided between my two Nephews, SAMLL: BONUM and THOMAS BONUM. and their heirs for ever;
Also I give bequeath and devise to my Son, SAMUEL BONUM, a large Gold Ring which was my Mothers;
Also I give bequeath and devise to my Loveing Wife, SARAH BONUM, the Negro girle named Bess to her and her heirs for ever;
Also I give to my sd. Wife two other Negroes, vizt. Mingo and Moll to her dureing her natural life and after her decease then I give ye sd. Negros, Mingo and Moll and their increase to my Son, SAMUEL BONUM and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for want of such heirs, then I give ye sd, Negroes and their Increase to be equally devided betweene my two Nephews, SAMLL, and THOMAS BONUM and their heirs for ever;
Also I give bequeath and devise all the rest of my personall Estate to be equally devided betweene my loveing Wife, SARAH BONUM, and my Son, SAMUEL BONUM, and to theire heirs for ever, after ye payment of all my just debts, arch : I desire may be first paid.
Also I give bequeath and devise unto my loveing Wife my now dwelling House and one third part of my land to be laide off adjoineing to the sd. House on one side of the Land for and dureing her naturall life; Also what I have given to my Wife is full satisfaction of all Dowers, Thirds, Childs parts or any other Widows Claimes what ever. my meaning is yt: ye Tobacco House & Quarter shall not be in my Wife's part;
And it is also my Will & desire that my good Friend, WILLOUGHBY NEWTON, take care of my Son, SAMLL. BONUM and his Estate untill he arives to ye age of twenty years old at wch: time it is my desire yt: my Son shall receive his Estate and not before, And Lastly I make ordaine constitute & appoint my sd. Friend, WILLOUGHBY NEWTON my hole and sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seale the day and yeare above written
