CLARK, Patrick - 11 Mar 1809 sold land to Assa White in Avoyelles Par; land is bounded by land of Daniel Clark from Melinda's website (copyrighted) Patrick Clark was an early resident of Colonial Louisiana, having signed the death document of Maria Donegan or Duncan 15 August 1780. In November 1780, he sold a barge in a document that mentioned his brother "Clarens" (probably Terrance) as a recipient of some of the proceeds of the sale. He was the witness for the marriage of Louis Hooter to Marie Louise Valdrick 6 February 1793 (Louis may have been the brother of Patrick's son-in-law Joseph Hooter) and served as godfather to several of the children of his neighbors and kin. The last document found of Patrick is a land sale in 1809 to Asa White who is the second husband of daughter Sarah. Patrick does not appear in the 1810 census of Louisiana. Text: This is the first document we see with Patrick's signature.
