  Notes	1860 Jefferson Co census: living with John McCall, husband of her 1st cousin Martha Hayes, and her grandmother Marie Gallier. *She married Lovis Obey on 10 January 1871 in Jefferson Co. Whether he died or they were divorced, she next married Franklin Hemmingway on 25 February 1875 in Jefferson Co. Their children were Arthur Hemmingway, born in 1876, and Emily Hemmway, born in 1879, both born in Sabine Pass. Franklin listed his occupation in the 1880 census as an engineer and that his parents were from Louisiana. Also listed as a resident in their home was Mary's half-sister Missouri Hayes, age 15, who eventually married Franklin's brother, Eustace Hemmingway, in 1885, but nonetheless, classified her as his sister-in-law. Missouri Hayes was the daugr of James H HAYES, JR, and his second wife Selina Maas. Also, Mary's grandmother, MARIE JOHNSON HAYES GALLIER, age 83, was living with them. Marie listed her father as being born in South Carolina, and mother in Mississippi. * record in Yellowed Pages, Vol 2: Information from Charlie Vincent, g-grandson of Louis Obey confirms that he was not married to this Mary, but rather to Polly Hayes, d/o Leonard Hayes.
