I, George Dent of CC, Gent, for the natural love I have for Wm Dent, son of Thomas & Anne Dent of CC, and also for divers other good causes, I give him the several things mentioned on the back of this instrument of writing, now being on the plantation of Anne Dent, widow,`at Nanjemy [Cr] in CC. Further, I have put sd Wm in possession of the goods mentioned on the back of this instrument of writing afd. Signed Nov 23, 1726 - George Dent. Wit - Martha (X her mark) Atkins. - A parcel of feathers, 24 damask napkins, 3 damask table cloths, 1 old clock, 1 cross cut saw, 1 pen knife, & 4 knives and forks. - 14 Dec 1726: At the request of Anne Dent of CC,'\widow, the following deed was recorded Dec 14, 1726. I, John Howard of CC, Gent, greeting. Sd John had assigned to him, out of the estate of Mr. Thos Dent,.,late of CC, Gent, decd, 7 ewes and 1 ram, which have since increased to 15 ewes and a ram. Now know that I, sd John Howard, for the natural love I have for my cousin, William Dent of CC and for divers other good causes, I have given sd Wm Dent all my right to the afd 15 ewes and ram, with their-future increase. - 9 Nov 1728: At the request of William Dent of CC, Gent, the following letter and bill of sale was recorded this Nov 19, 1728. I desire you to give a bill of sale of the cattle and their produce that I formerly left with Mr. Thomas Dent, to his widow and children, according to your discretion, and this shall oblige me to stand to it. Signed May 30, 1727 - Henry Darnall.
To Mr. William Chandler. Pursuant to an order from Mr. Henry Darnall to me directed, dated May 30, 1727, be it known that I have sold to Mr. William Dent and Thomas Dent, sons of Thomas Dent, late of CC, decd, all the cattle that were on sd Thomas Dent's plantation, belonging to the afd Henry Darnall & to myself, for and in consideration of 5 shillings to me paid. The cattle are to be equally divided between the afd William and Thomas Dent. Signed Aug 23, 1728 - Willm Chandler. Wit - Willm Clifton, John Beale.' CC. On Nov 13, 1728 came John Beale before us, 2 CC JPs, and made oath that he saw the above instrument signed and sealed, and that at the same time, the above named William Clifton was present.
